Who We Are
Jesus was a wildly radical guy; he never did what people expected from him. Yet, he was entirely approachable. In a culture where prestige and position elevated you above the masses, Jesus was adamant about being with and welcoming the people. Young children, women of questionable character and his harshest critics freely engaged him in conversation. In fact, Jesus invited people to hang around Him and be His friend. In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus gives this offer: "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with Me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with Me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." (The Message)
The purpose of New Day is to provide an opportunity to encounter the loving, gracious and kind Jesus. You are welcome to come, regardless of your condition, beliefs or past. We’re committed to modeling the same approachability as Jesus did. There is nothing particularly special about us; we are a group of people who have experienced brokenness, failure, rejection and disappointment. But it was in our most dire moments that we realized the sincerity of Jesus’ invitation to, “get away with Me” and the power of His promise, “keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Thank-you for considering New Day Church; we pray that you will find the same love, acceptance and freedom here that those who approached Jesus were welcomed with. We’re excited about what God is doing around here and we think that you’ll quickly agree.
